The concert will feature popular Melbourne pianist, Lachlan Redd, who charmed local audiences when he appeared three years ago.
Redd will perform a program that incorporates some of the most popular composers and pieces from the romantic period, including Chopin and Rachmaninoff.
Lachlan Redd came to international attention at just 20 when he won first prize in the prestigious ‘Virtuosi of the Year 2000’ competition in St Petersburg.
His stunning performance astonished the musical world of Russia.
He won the keyboard finals of the Young Performers Awards on the ABC, and has performed extensively here in Australia and overseas in such countries as the US, UK, Belgium, Austria, Germany and Serbia.
In 2008 Redd received glowing reviews for his performance for the challenging Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No 2 in Melbourne.
His dazzling talent caught the eye of Geoffrey Tozer.
Subsequently, the Tozer Estate offered Redd an exclusive contract to premiere Tozer compositions including the technically challenging Fugue in C# Major, the series Pieces from Childhood and the memorable Piano Sonata in C.
The Pieces from Childhood was recorded for compact disc and released late in 2014.
