The sessions will be presented by Brett Lee, a cybersafety expert and creator of the Queensland-based company, Internet Education and Safety Services (INESS).
Mr Lee worked as a Queensland police officer for 22 years, 16 of those as a detective predominantly in the field of child exploitation.
In his last five years of service, he was a specialist in the field of undercover internet child exploitation investigations.
He has conducted training for the NSW, SA and WA police services as well as Australian Customs.
His diverse background includes completing FBI training, working on US cyber task forces and a stint as a police instructor training Iraqi nationals.
Mr Lee is a recipient of the top police awards for his role in developing and implementing software used by various law enforcement agencies to track and identify online child offenders.
In 2001, in his role as a detective, Mr Lee realised that the key to protecting the most vulnerable people in our society - children - from online dangers was education.
Mr Lee's will talk to Lumen Christi students during class and will then address a special parent information session on Wednesday, August 5, from 5.30-6.30pm.
This session will be open to all members of the public who are interested in cyber safety.
