The Tigers were able to sink their claws in to come away with a 54-14 win.
However, the victory came at a price with injuries to Liam Wilkinson (broken jaw), Luke Pattrick (dislocated shoulder), Michael Wykes (torn hamstring) and young gun Mitch Farrell (shoulder injury).
It was a dampener on an otherwise professional effort from the improving young side.
The Tigers are having no trouble finding the line to score 10 tries for their third consecutive week.
Liam Wilkinson, Jack Nicholson, Tom Henderson and Joe Stewart all scored double, while “Big Red Biscuits” James Healy was lucky to avoid a “nudie run” with a try in the last two minutes.
Healy led the way with a big performance in the middle of pack.
He had plenty of support from man of the match Jack Nicholson, Greg Nicholson and Andrew Love providing plenty of forward motion.
With the big men working hard up front the back lines had plenty of room to move and Wilkinson looked unstoppable early in the piece.
Joe Stewart had a pro performance to again snag players’ player, while Tim Knight was strong in defence and Tom Henderson worked as the club’s best.
The team is improving rapidly, but will face its biggest month of footy so far after this weekend’s bye.
The next draw is Cooma at Cooma on June 13, then the Roosters and two consecutive games against the Moruya Sharks due to a washout early in the season.
However, officials said the club will know where it stands following the outcome of those matches.
The Tigers will also be looking to hold the third spot on the ladder.
Losses to the Bulldogs and Stallions on the weekend helped the Tigers cement their place.
Meanwhile, the Cuppas sponsored Ladies league-tag team played its best halves of the season, leading one of the competition heavyweights the Bombala High Heelers at half time 10-8.
Defensive efforts by the Tigerettes were flawless and some exhaustive running on the edges of the ruck saw them gain the early lead.
Unfortunately, with the wind at their backs in the second half the Bombala girls hit back with a vengeance.
The home squad secured the game 30-14.
Tahlia Ingram scored a great try from 30 metres out and it was followed up by a great effort by Mardi Longford.
The club congratuled Chrissy Wooley, who scored her first try for the season and had the team jumping for joy.
The team was well-led by their experienced trio Steph Douch, Rhiannon Richardson and Katrina Lackey, who worked really hard.
They had strong support from Chelsie Cassie, who continues to improve in her kicking game.
The team spirit was strong as Maddi Newton, Nickella Goddard, Madeline Jordon, Jacqueline Keevil-Scott, Lucy Elton and Michelle Dixon all providing committed efforts across the field.
There is a general bye for the long weekend so there will be no league on Sunday.
Group 16 action resumes on June 13 with the Tigers heading to Cooma to face the Stallions.
