As I heard these words, “State of Origin” a while ago, I tried to find out what the series is about.
As you could probably tell me, I found it was all to do with the start of a person’s rugby league career.
The state in which a player starts playing rugby league sets the basis for State of Origin eligibility.
Nothing a player can do after he’s started his playing career will alter his eligibility to play for NSW, or, for Queensland.
Whether he’s going to be a “blue”, or going to be a “maroon”.
(Queenslanders seem to be considerably more passionate about the whole business of State of Origin than New South Welshmen, but that’s for another time.
We have all started playing the ‘game of life’, and there is a 'State of Origin' series in this game, too.
But in this series there is a hope of changing from one side to the other.
All of us are on the ‘team’ that’s playing against God and the bible teaches us that although God might seem to be losing the series at the moment, His side is going to win in the end.
Belief in the changing power of the death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus is the only way to ‘change’ sides.
Do you see the great possibilities of being on God’s side?
