The other day, I read a news item about a settlement in the Hunter Valley which is suffering from the effects of the terrible storms in that area nearly a month ago.

The only way into the settlement, a bridge, was washed away during the storm, and this has created a heap of inconvenience.
It could take up to a year to build a new bridge at the cost of millions of dollars.
In the meantime it could take another three weeks, or more, to get basic vehicular access to the properties.
This reminds me of the way our way back to God was washed away, when Sin came into the world.
At the time, Adam and Eve made a choice to go their own way and not God’s way.
God enacted a plan to enable us to come into a right relationship with Himself, through sending His Son Jesus to live, die, be raised to life and go back to heaven to prepare a place for those who believe and trust God’s plan.
John writes the following in his Gospel, “Believe in God and believe also in me.
There are many rooms in my Father’s house, and I am going to prepare a place for you. I would not tell you this if it were not so. I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me.”
Let’s learn to trust God’s promises and use Jesus’ death, resurrection and ascension to have confidence we can come into a great relationship with Him through Jesus, at the very great expense of His own son.
The great thing is, we don’t have to wait because it’s ready there for us to use right now.
Let’s get going!
