Off the back of a mammoth touring schedule, Perso is back on the Sapphire Coast for two gigs.
Perso makes as much 'noise' as a three-piece band, with his physically demanding performance combining didgeridoos, acoustic guitars and drums.
It is fair to say that Richard Perso is living the dream.
He played his first festival at 15, won a string of competitions and awards at the age of 16, played at the Adelaide International Guitar Festival and National Folk Festival by 17.
At 18 he had added Woodford Folk Festival and New York performances, as well as recording his debut album in New York, to his credentials.
By 19 he had toured Canada and the east coast of the US, and he continues to blaze a trail through Australia’s vibrant festival circuit and live music scene.
Perso will appear at a house concert at Towamba on Friday, May 1 ($10) and at Nethercote Hall on Saturday, May 2 ($20).
Bookings for the house party would be appreciated on 6496 7196, and supper will be available at Nethercote on the night.
