“It shows that we can work together when we need too.”
The Sharks were full of praise for Bombala on its return to Group 16.
“Thanks to the boys and the committee for dropping in for presentations prior to their trip up the mountain,” he said.
“Moruya managed to get Bombala in the boat race despite a slow star,t thanks to the back marker’s stunning performance.”
Luke Jay returned to play his first game in Sharks’ colours since he was a teenager.
“It’s a name synonymous with hard hits and hard men throughout the history of the club,” Cornall said.
“Luke showed that he will live up to the name, with some bruising defence and strong dummy half play.”
Former NRL star Michael Weyman was running bench for his little brother, Tim, on Sunday.
“Michael and his family are loving being back in Australia, on the South Coast, and we wish him a speedy recovery from his knee injury,” he said.
The Sharks travel to Cooma this weekend and first grade, reserve grade and league tag will take to the field.
It will be the first match for the Sharks’ reserves and the club expects the match to be entertaining.
