A SOFTBALL gala day held in Bega on Saturday raised money for a good cause.
Six teams turned out for a round-robin tournament with their entry fee being donated to the Jacqui Britton memorial fund.
Organisers said they had orginally intended to donate half the funds to the new regional hospital, but would instead donate the money to the Britton family.
It was hoped the day would attract a few extra teams as organisers said it was a modified rules day allowing men to join in the fun.
However, those that did turn out enjoyed the day, with some big-hitters slogging home runs for their teams, while others took some brilliant catches in the outfield.
Not to mention a few clever catches behind the plate.
