Little Amelia Wintle is one of the 37 children starting kindergarten at Eden Public School this year.
With her new uniform and backpack all ready, Amelia, 4, will start kindergarten on Monday.
Her mother Elissa McCabe says Amelia is very excited and already knows many children from preschool.
Eden Public School, Eden Marine High School and Lumen Christi Catholic College students returned this week.
At EMHS, years 7, 11 and 12 headed back to class yesterday while the rest of the school starts today.
Year 7 students Krystal-Ana Cruse, Jaydah Goroch and Emily Fulton said they were very excited about their first day of secondary school.
The school's principal, Ian Moorehead, said it was going to be a great year with five new teachers starting along with all the year 7s.
More than a million NSW students headed back to the classroom for the first day of school for 2015 yesterday.
"It's a big day for more than a million students going back to school," Education Minister Adrian Piccoli said.
About 780,000 of those students are at NSW state schools.
