Club vice president Eddy Evans said the damage occurred on Sunday night.
It has been reported to Eden Police.
Mr Evans said several club members had carried out maintenance, undertaken a general clean-up and cut the grass around the club house on Sunday morning, ahead of Australia Day.
"Between Sunday afternoon and Monday mornig some idiots have come in an done donuts and ripped up the freshly mown grass opposite the club house," Mr Evans said.
"This grassed area will repair and flourish again with a little assistance from those prepared to give of their time freely to ensure it is ready for our March competition.
Mr Evans said the club would consider installing CCTV security cameras.
"It's a proposal we can put to the committee but it not something we want to do," he said.
"We don't want to have to go down that track.
"Surely Eden is not that sort of town," he said.
Mr Evans said the fishing club took pride in offering its services to all anglers and tried to maintain boat washing facilities, fish cleaning tables, water hoses and assist anyone where possible.
"One wonders if the culprits will want to come back and use this area in 10 years time when they have children of their own children," Mr Evans said.
The club is busy preparing for is $40,000 Fishing Tournament in early march.
The tournament - which is a big drawcard for the Eden cimmunity - has been running for more than 30 years.
"It's maddening when the club tries to do something good for the town and then this happens," Mr Evans said.
The damaged grassed area is used by the club during the tournament as the venue for its barbecue and prize presentations.
It is not the first time the fishing club has incurred damage.
Last year Bega Valley Shire Council had to repair the car park after it was ripped by by hoons.
The EDFC is the second Eden club to come under attack from vandals in recent weeks.
Earlier this month, the Eden Gardens Country Club had a number of its windows smashed.
