The new agency is being set up inside the Eden Realty office in Imlay Street, and will initially be staffed by the real estate agency employees.
Eden Realty manager/licensee, Glenn Brunette, said the facility will be open as soon as possible once staff training has been completed.
“We’re very happy to be bringing the Bendigo Bank here to Eden,” he said.
“The closure of the Westpac facility was a blow to the town – many customers need face-to-face service rather than relying on internet banking.
“This new agency will offer them a point of contact that is local and easy to access.”
Mr Brunette said demand will dictate whether he brings in a dedicated staff member to work solely within the agency.
Pambula & District Community Bank mobile relationship manager, Philip Smith, has worked closely with Mr Brunette to establish the agency.
He said the Eden agency will be a welcome addition for both new and existing customers.
“We do have a lot of customers who live in Eden, and who won’t need to travel to Pambula to visit the branch anymore,” Mr Smith said.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Glenn and become a major part of Eden.
“As a community bank, we already support a lot of things in Eden, and now we’ll have an agency here to provide face-to-face banking services too.”
The agency’s opening date is yet to be determined, but it is expected to be up and running within weeks.
