Ellen Soroka (95.9), Kalidevi Samuels-Connell (90.7) and Cara Davidson (90.15) are the three students, but there may be more who are yet to notify the school of their results.
Ellen said while she was aiming for a score of 95, the result, which included a band six in Legal Studies, came as a surprise.
"I wasn't really expecting to get it - Mum and I were a bit teary," she laughed.
"I'm hoping to study sustainable energy engineering or industrial design - I've already applied to the University of Wollongong, but I'm also thinking about studying in Sweden."
Ellen will have the opportunity to scope out potential universities in Sweden next year when she passes through as part of a six-month tour of Europe on her gap year.
She said Swedish course is a more attractive option, and also more affordable as her British citizenship entitles her to free university education in the European Union.
Fellow high achiever Cara Davidson said her score of 90.15 has surpassed her expectations.
Having already gained early entry to the University of Wollongong to study primary teaching, Cara said the stresses of the HSC were somewhat lifted.
With three band six results - in General Mathematics, Community and Family Studies and PDHPE - her results are among the state's best.
"I was pretty shocked - I was hoping for something in the 80s," she said.
"I'm moving up to Wollongong to start uni next year."
With a score of 90.7, Kalidevi Samuels-Connell also has the world at her feet.
After achieving band five results in English Advanced, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Legal Studies, along with an E3 in Extension 1 Mathematics, she now plans to take a gap year.
"I'm hoping to study law and maybe science at ANU after my gap year," she said.
"I was aiming to get over 90, so I was really happy when I got my results."
