Held in late November, the day acted as a fundraiser for Can Assist, a grassroots charity supporting country NSW families, who will often have to pay up to five times more than city-based families to access treatment due to travel and accommodation expenses.
Club president Marcelle Cavanough handed over a cheque to Can Assist representatives Rhonda and Peter Van Bracht at the Eden Gardens Country Club on Monday.
Mr Van Bracht said the club’s generosity will be greatly beneficial to local families in need.
“On behalf of Can Assist, I’d like to thank you for your great efforts,” he said as he addressed club members.
“This money will be spent wisely to help people in the Bega Valley.”
Ms Cavanough said the charity day would not have been possible without the support of sponsors Coles Eden, Eden Pharmacy, Southlands Fish Supplies, the Great Southern Inn and Bi-Rite Electrical.
