The show is no ordinary one and definitely not one to miss, with dazzling dance, costumes and props.
Directed and produced by Principal Andy Cross and her teachers, the show promises to be exciting and varied.
There’s classical ballet, jazz ballet, tap dance, singing and even a little bit of dialogue.
Students of all ages are involved, whether they are on the brink of a professional dance career or little ones just entering the world of dance.
The performances will highlight the very best of Mary Poppins through the decades, drawing inspiration from the original stories by P.L Travers, the hugely successful musical of recent times and even elements of the Walt Disney version.
“The excerpts have been carefully selected for audience appeal and importantly because the students have loved them,” Mrs Cross said.
“It is a chance for the students to exhibit the culmination of their technical skills, hard work and focus that they have dedicated themselves to all year.”
The unique work coming out of the Wyndham School of Dance is inspirational, particularly for one so small.
“The school’s performance focus ensures that students develop a strong sense of responsibility to their audience and that all students are trained to their full potential,” Mrs Cross said.
In working towards performance, Mrs Cross demands a sense of responsibility and care amongst her students.
When one visits the school and watches students perform and interact, the social glue that has been developed as a result unmistakeably binds the students and teachers together.
The love for what they are doing and the respect for each other shines through.
To compliment the uniqueness of the show, it will be held in the charming Wyndham Hall, nestled in one of the prettiest and tiniest villages in the Bega Valley.
The tables will be arranged cabaret style in groups of four to six to enable an intimate atmosphere.
Refreshments served by students will be delivered to tables at interval at no extra cost.
Shows are being held on Thursday, December 4 and Friday, December 5 at 7pm sharp.
On Saturday, December 6, there will be a matinee at 2pm, followed by an evening show at 6.30pm.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for school-aged children.
Please call Andy or Grahame Cross on 6494 2067 to book your tickets as soon as possible.
