Riders from as far as Batemans Bay, Nimmitabel and Mallacoota converged on Weber Park for a great weekend of jumping, novelties and dressage.
Twenty-five riders took part in the event across three disciplines on Saturday.
Phase one was dressage, then cross country and finishing with the show jumping.
The club congratulated a number of riders who took part in their first ever cross-country ride.
Three Eden riders, Chelsea Stevenson, Natasha Swires and Nell Allen-Coen, finished with solid times and no downed rails.
Stevenson was a standout on the day with one of the leading scores in the cross country as well.
The gymkhana provided another stunning day with 45 riders lining up to take part.
Maddison Clark, 6, of Wyndham had an exceptional start to the day riding Snowy.
She took home 12 ribbons including 9 firsts and a huge bag of lollies for her great riding in the E-led class.
Judge Kylee Cowgill was impressed with the level of quality shown in the riding class.
Wolumla’s Zoe Grant and Molly Britten were both unbeatable on the day.
Meanwhile, Alecia Bobbin, Molly Hansford, Taleeah Heffernan and Maddie Cullen all had clear rounds in the Intro Table A.
Many riders in the higher grades were caught unaware of the narrow brick wall and the fluoro pallet jump, with multiple refusals and some eliminations.
Everyone was challenged in the fault-in-out showjump on a tight course with the jumps set to maximum height.
Riders proved their ability though, with many clear rounds and exceptionally fast times.
Stevenson again stood out, as did Wolumla’s Isobel Cox.
The day ended with the famous Peter Severs barrel race.
The fastest barrel racers from each age group took on one another in a spectacular finale.
Abbey MacGreggor, from the 10-13 years age group, was the youngest rider in the final and it was hard to tell who was more excited, her or the horse.
However, Abbey had a controlled clear ride to finish fifth.
Claire Feeney and her horse Hazy are seasoned barrel racers and clocked a solid time to claim second place.
Last year’s champion Taya Evans on horse Docs Tucker, had her eye firmly on reclaiming the trophy for the second year in a row.
However, Docs Tucker let his nerves get the better of him and they overshot the first barrel, costing them precious time.
Despite a lightning-speed finish the trophy eluded them, finishing third.
Bega’s Jessica Coleman on Sunny was the last to ride.
She showed some textbook form in the turns to clock the fastest time of 19.87 seconds.
The split awarded her the title of 2014 barrel racing champion.
Organisers thanked all the volunteers who helped make the day successful and looked forward to next year’s event.
