My husband, son and I have recently relocated from the beautiful, lush green Nethercote Valley, to the dry flat plains of Narrabri.

We spent 12 wonderful years living in the Bega Valley supported by the people of the village of Nethercote and the towns of both Eden and Bega, where we each worked.
My husband had a career with Forestry Corporation spanning over 20 years and we have lived in three different towns across New South Wales during that time.
Unfortunately, the forest industry is no longer the growing concern it once was and the latest restructure left us little choice but to move on.
This has meant our 15-year-old son, Toby, moved from Eden High School at the end of Term 3 in Year 9 this year.
During our time living in Nethercote, Toby played both soccer and rugby league for Eden.
Marty and I have been in awe of the hard work a small number of people in the community go to in order to keep both these clubs viable.
I would like to extend a huge thank you to both clubs, especially the rugby league club and in particular the likes of Corey Stewart, Kerry Wilson and the first aid officers, Tina Grewar and Wayne Martin.
Corey was Toby’s coach from the time he joined the club as part of the under 8s.
Corey has shown true dedication, encouragement and support often when he has had competing family priorities.
Kerry Wilson goes beyond the call of duty on every occasion and had the generosity of thought to arrange a team farewell for Toby before we left town.
And, Tina and Wayne were certainly put to work a number of times with the mounting injuries Toby had over the years!
Without the likes of these people who volunteer their time to the club, it would surely fold.
For everything you have ever done to make Toby feel a part of the team and the broader community we thank you and will miss the camaraderie of spirit and heart.
As the saying goes, it certainly does take a village to raise a child and Eden and the sporting community has done a wonderful job for our son.
