Women donned their favourite pink outfits and took to the course for a Canadian foursomes event on Saturday morning.
Sunday was heralded by a 9am shotgun start to signal the business end of play.
Players represented 10 different regional clubs for the competition.
Club professional Loraine Lambert said a small, but energetic field of 66 took part over the weekend.
“There was a really high quality field,” Lambert said.
“We had Sylvia Donohue from Narooma, she plays off a handicap of one and Tura’s Casey Cook.
Cook won the open event with a score of 76, but was also the title winner in the junior event recently.
“Casey is a single figure player and also won the junior event, she’s liking Eden at the moment,” Lambert said with a laugh.
“But there was easily a dozen single figure players in the field so the competition was strong.”
Despite Cook claiming the open honours, Eden players held their own in in the scratch event.
Ros Haenig was the division one winnrs, while Laura Walker picked up the title in division two.
Hazel Saunders and Sandy Huff finished runners-up in the division two and three handicap events respectively.
The foursomes event was also taken out locally.
Maree Rankin and Ann Schmitzer won with 74.25.
Ros Haenig and Shiralee Nicholls combined well to claim second on 75.75.
Lambert gave credit to the women’s committee and said everyone who took part enjoyed themselves.
“It was a great time, the course was in excellent condition and there wasn’t a breath of wind for the weekend.”
Lambert was able to take a back seat in the event and just enjoy the show from the pro shop.
“We have a vantage point to see a couple of holes and we are just there to answer any questions or settle rule disputes.”
The open normally runs during the week, but a decision was made to host the event over the weekend this time around.
Lambert said the move had provided “no boost” to the entries and the committee will evaluate plans for next year.
