It’s not Jennifer Hawkins coming to town, but the Eden Killer Whale Museum fashion parade promises to be a cracker all the same.

Fashions from Sapphire Surprises and Tribal Suzani will be on display at the event, which gets underway at the museum at 7pm on Friday.

“It’s a $10 entry fee, and all proceeds are going to the wig library at the Bega oncology unit,” organiser Val Barber said.

“Clothes from both the shops will be shown, and [Friends of the Eden Killer Whale Museum] have organised most of the models.

“The gear from Sapphire Surprises will also be available for sale on the night, but anything from Tribal Suzani will have to be purchased from the shop.

“They’ve got ladies, kids and menswear, so Craig [from Tribal Suzani] is going to get his daughters to model, and there will be some male models too.”

Fellow organiser Margaret Sheaves said tickets are starting to go, but there are still plenty available.

Ms Sheaves also said the museum is thrilled to have the chance to play a part in benefitting those in need.

“The museum only gets money from the odd grant and donations over the counter,” she said.

“But it’s been going for 80-odd years, and they just want to give something back to the community, so please come along and make this a huge success.

“We’re hoping to support some other charities in the future too, especially some of the lesser-known ones who don’t get as much help.

“The new hospital at Bega is going to have carers’ accommodation, so that’s something the museum will look to support next year.”

Tickets for the parade are available for $10 at the Eden Killer Whale Museum.

The price includes entry and supper.
