In the cup the six best players from the Far South Coast will be playing against the six best players from the ACT.
The Far South Coast team is Nick Crundell of Pambula-Merimbula Golf Club, Andrew Collins of Eden, Garry Cook of Tura Beach, Jordan Lang of Narooma and Gavin Fitzgerald and Brett Hull of Moruya.
The format for the day will be Foursomes Match Play in the morning and Single Match Play in the afternoon, playing 36 holes.
Far South Coast District Golf Association Peter Weire said this challenge is the most exciting event that has been held in the Far South Coast for many years and will be a spectator’s feast of good golf.
This type of event happens rarely and will not be held in Pambula again until 2016, as it will go to Canberra next year.
The cup was initiated by Mr Weire, intended to be a rotational, annual event to give golf teams somewhere to compete.
“We haven’t got anywhere for the elite players to go after the pennant season,” he said.
“There’s no real teams event for them, nothing until February next year.”
Held at Pambula Merimbula Golf Course from 8am-5pm entry is free and it is open to all so come and view some of the best golf you have ever seen.
“It’s going to be pretty special,” Mr Weire said.
The Far South Coast team will later go on to compete in the Men’s Country Championships in Parkes held over the first weekend of November.
