The first learn to sail event - at Quarantine Bay from 10am - is free and open to all.
Twofold Bay Yacht Club will have new, fun, easy to sail Open BIC sailing boats to introduce younger people to sailing.
If there is sufficient interest the club may the purchase or seek sponsorship to add to its rapidly growing fleet of sail training boats.
The club is committed to providing a chance for everyone of all abilities to enjoy sailing.
Sailing is a good way to develop further life skills like teamwork, self-reliance, communication and trust.
It is also a great part of a skill set if you intend to travel overseas, with many employment opportunities.
If you have a bucket list, the Twofold Bay Yacht Club is also talking with University of The Third Age to set up courses for all ages.
There is a $10million commitment to making Eden a safer boat haven with improved wave protection and a scoping study for the new marina underway.
Tourism and employment opportunities should flow from this.
The sailing racing season at Eden is starting up on October 12 with a number of new keel boats (Adams 10s) being launched this season.
The 2015 two-day annual regatta is on February 13-14.
Register your interest in the learn to sail events at www.twofoldbayyc.yachting.org.au/assoc or call Ted Dexter on 0414 550 915.
Learn to sail fees, per day, are seniors $20, juniors $10.
