With this in mind, the Eden Visitor Information Centre has thrown out a challenge.
The centre is soon to publish its new copy of Eden’s official visitor guide and for the first time is offering local photographers the opportunity to capture the essence of Eden.
Any of the entries submitted, whether professional or amateur, are in with the chance of being featured on the front cover of the magazine.
The publication, Eden – a Natural Paradise, is an essential tool to attract visitors to Eden.
“It is a beautifully produced book that highlights how uniquely attractive Eden is,” visitor centre manager Shannon Woloshyn said.
“This year we are asking the community to be involved in the production of the guide.”
Ms Woloshyn said the ideal cover photo would capture Eden’s natural beauty and motivate people to visit the town.
“We encourage both professional and amateur photographers to submit photos.
“It is a great opportunity for a photographer to gain exposure for their work.”
For many the ideal image would of course be of Eden’s natural beauty, but Ms Woloshyn said being creative, by thinking outside the square, is also encouraged.
“It would be good to see a high quality photograph combining, for example, Eden’s natural beauty with the town of Eden…that would be a challenge.
“Providing this opportunity to be a part of the magazine production is a good way to engage the community in promoting and being proud of their town,” Ms Woloshyn said.
50,000 copies of this guide to Eden are distributed throughout NSW, Victoria and the ACT.
The magazine is printed every two years and promotes Eden’s natural beauty, attractions, accommodations and dining.
“It’s a very important magazine for our small town, so why not enter the competition and do your town proud,” Ms Woloshyn said.
If you have a photo showcasing Eden, post it on the Eden Visitor Information Centre Facebook page or email it to info@visiteden.com.au by August 18.
There are already a few entries which can be viewed on Facebook.
