Georgia qualified to race in seven events at the NSW Country Swimming Championships held over the weekend.
Proud mum, Melina Caldwell, said Georgia only took part in six as the family had to travel home on Sunday afternoon.
“I am so proud of Georgia and all her achievements,” Melina said.
Georgia was the only Eden swimmer at the championships, which were held at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.
The events played host to 79 teams and 723 swimmers.
Georgia swam three podium finishes, picking up silver medals in the 50m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 100m freestyle.
She qualified in third for the butterfly and 50m freestyle, while she was the quickest in the heats for the 100m freestyle.
She bested her times in each race by up to four seconds in the final, but was pipped from first place in each of the events.
She qualified the 100m freestyle in 1.14.06, but swam the final in 1.10.08 and also shaved three seconds off her finish in the butterfly.
However, podium finishes were a thrill for Melina.
“It was very exciting to see her being presented with her medallions on the podium,” Melina said.
This year, Georgia has stepped up her training, and the results are in the three silver medals dangling from her neck.
“She has been training hard for the last 12 months and has focused on setting goals and reaching them,” Melina said.
“All her family and friends are very supportive and proud of her.”
Three other divisions also put Georgia in good standing, but outside the top 10.
She placed 12th in the 100m backstroke, 17th in the 100m breaststroke and 34th in the 11 and under 50m backstroke.
Georgia credited the good form the extra training sessions and was grateful for support from her trainer and parents.
“Thankyou to John training me and making me work hard to reach my goals,” Georgia said.
“And thanks to Mum and Dad for driving me everywhere and paying for all my trips!”
