Members welcomed some Eden anglers for the weekend and held two competitions.
The Tuross group was chasing bream for the goblet and Mark Brown caught, and released, a 1.089kg bream in Tuross to take out the goblet.
The ladies’ lake and estuary was won by Tamara Whitehead with her 1.260kg salmon and Patty Parker took out ladies’ rock and beach with another salmon, weighing 1.175kg.
Rachael Kennedy braved the waters outside and after almost six hours without catching a fish, she reeled in a 705-gram snapper to win the ladies’ outside category.
The men’s lake and estuary was won by Neil Alexander with a whopping flathead at 2.313kg which he released.
The fish he caught was tagged, and it was the second time the same fish has been caught, six weeks apart and only a metre further down than last time.
Merv Roberts hit the rocks briefly on Saturday and his 985- gram drummer won him men’s rock and beach.
The men’s outside was taken by Rod Ferderer with a 935-gram snapper.
The next monthly competition is on July 12 and 13.
Members are chasing salmon for the goblet and weigh-in will be held at 1pm, downstairs at Tuross Head Country Club.
