Rustic sonorous vocalisations could be heard across the hills and valleys of Nethercote when I ripped the back of my left hand on some protruding rusty nails in the fowl house.

But Pambula Hospital Emergency was there to help, and thank goodness.
A special thanks to Drew Barr for an excellent patch-up job on my hand and his reassuring words: “You’re not going to die. People have been cutting their hands for thousands of years and surviving”.
Anyway this misadventure just goes to show how vitally important the Pambula Hospital service is to our area.
There were no doctors available in the medical centre (3.30pm) so the Pambula Hospital Emergency was the only option.
If it wasn’t there, it would have meant a one handed, 100km round trip drive in a manual vehicle to Bega Hospital Emergency; a bloody and sickening prospect.
