Storm enlisted during a ceremony in Canberra on Tuesday, while Skye is due to enlist in July, and both will attend Army Recruit School at the same time.
Storm is joining the Military Police and Skye will become an aircraft ground support crew member.
The 22-year-old sisters are looking forward to making new friends and developing professionally and personally.
Storm said the reason she applied was to serve her country and give back to others.
“Being a part of the Army is not just a job for me but a lifestyle. It gives me the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and make lifelong friends,” Storm said.
“It’s also challenging and exciting; some of the tasks I will be required to carry out as a solider can be quite tough, but ultimately, very rewarding – I cannot wait,” she said.
The twins will soon commence training at Kapooka, near Wagga Wagga, where they will undergo physical training and drills and learn valuable first aid skills, along with weapons combat training, navigation and advanced field-craft.
Skye said she is looking forward to developing herself and learning new skills.
“I am interested in learning as much as I can about the aviation industry and working with aircraft, along with learning about the Australian Army and the culture within,” Skye said.
Skye and Storm have done everything together for as long as they can remember, and joining the Australian Defence Force is no different.
“Our family is extremely supportive of our decision to join up," Storm said.
"Our sisters Zoe and Darci are a flight attendant and a registered nurse, and we are as proud of them as they are of us."
