Shannon Woloshyn moved to the area four years ago from Canada, when she flew to Australia for a holiday, and was smitten with its natural beauties…and men!
Having found the love of her life, Ms Woloshyn continued with her studies via correspondence and has remained an integral part of the local community ever since.
“I was working for a communication services organisation before this move where I would work the youth through education and enrichment programs, it was predominantly volunteer work,” Ms Woloshyn said.
“I’m passionate about the area. I love it.
“Having been a bit of a tourist myself I spend a lot of time exploring beaches, snorkelling, bush walking and seeking out interesting places.”
Ms Woloshyn said she really wants to focus on web presence for the Eden Visitor Information Centre.
“Our site is linked to the South Coast Tourism website and our team would like to enhance the site to create more traffic this year,” she said.
“I’d also like to work with the volunteers, local businesses and the community to focus on developing more experiences for visitors and highlight what we have on offer here.
“We’ve got approximately 20 active volunteers at the moment who all play an important role at the centre in promoting the area – and there are a lot of benefits to being a volunteer here too.”
