It’s also the last hurrah for many visitors and the long lines of caravans and cars will head for the Princes Highway and home on Monday.
That leaves the weekend to celebrate Australia Day and in Eden, the premier event on the program is cricket’s Owen Alan Trophy, which will be fought for at the Eden Sportsground from 10am on Sunday morning.
The final will be played around 4pm with the winning team scoring a $500 donation to the charity of their choice.
Come along and bring a picnic to watch the cricket, or enjoy the Eden Services and Social Club Incorporated (Essci) barbecue sausages, steaks and rissoles from 11am onwards.
There will be a break in between games at around 12noon for the flag raising by the 1st Eden Sea Scouts, and an Australia Day address by Allan Gibson.
