Higher School Certificate Results will be published online at 6am on Wednesday with Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) available from 9am Thursday.
University hopefuls will be looking for high HSC results that will translate into a good ATAR, the ranking that dictates whether they can get into their chosen university degree or not.
Kids in regional areas like the Bega Valley are eligible for bonus points and there are also certain subjects which earn the student extra points.
Rocky Hall’s Isobel Gillespie has applied to a number of universities to study physiotherapy or health science.
A dance teacher for three years and dancer for 12, Isobel was successful in winning the Eden Fishermen’s Recreation Club gap year position.
Over the next year she will earn a TAFE certificate three in hospitality, gaining valuable skills in administration, waitressing, bar work, and special events.
“It’s very diverse here, I do different things every day,” she said.
“I’m hoping this will help me to get a good job next year at university.”
