There are many people within our community who struggle, particularly through the Christmas season.
Facing the extra financial and emotional demands can be tough and many turn to local agencies for assistance.
This is the 22nd year of this appeal which celebrates the continuing generosity of Australians supporting community with tens of thousands of gifts and gift vouchers each year. Now you can be the Kris Kringle gift-giver for someone experiencing tough or lonely times this Christmas.
How to do it? Spot the large stripy red Operation Santa Christmas tree at the Target Country Store in Merimbula.
Take a gift tag off the tree and purchase a gift for someone. Alternatively you can take a gift tag with a dollar value on it and take it to the checkout for payment.
Target staff are proud participants and welcome and encourage their customers to support this community effort. No gift is too small and all help to make big difference for someone this Christmas.
All gifts go to people in our local communities and distribution is co-ordinated by the Eden and Merimbula Uniting Churches and assisted by individuals from other churches and community volunteers.
Operation Santa is already underway and continues until Monday, December 23.
