On Sunday, October 20, 2013, my son fell off his bike and broke his arm. We went straight to Pambula and were seen very quickly.
The nurses, doctor and radiographer were excellent.
Having moved from Melbourne two years ago we were very pleasantly surprised how seamlessly everything ran.
My husband and I are both nurses, with wide and varied experience in busy major metropolitan hospitals.
We are not usually on the receiving side of hospital care! Our colleagues at Pambula District Hospital are truly amazing and deserving of all praises. This is such a vital community service, with such a large catchment area. The numbers of emergency patients seen each year alone, would have to rival the neighbouring hospitals. It rivals some of the city hospitals, both public and private that I have worked in.
How anyone could feasibly think about shutting it down is mind boggling. But I guess that is a whole other story!!
Thank you to everyone at PDH.
