WANT to be a film critic? As part of The Age Critics Award, to be presented to the best Australian feature in the Melbourne International Film Festival, we are inviting readers to hone their own critical skills of wit, acuity, creativity - and brevity.
Tweet us a 140-character review of the eligible films during the festival using the hashtag #agecritics or email it to critics@theage.com.au. The best mini reviews will be in the running for three double passes to MIFF's closing night film and party. Entries close at 6pm on Thursday, August 16. Winners will be notified on August 17.
Films eligible for The Age Critics Award are: Errors of the Human Body; 100 Bloody Acres; Being Venice; Hail; Jack Irish - Bad Debts; Last Dance; The Sapphires; Save Your Legs!; Dead Europe (not eligible for the people's choice Twitter prize).
The Age is a festival sponsor.
