Kim Hinde is resurrecting the proud tradition of the Pambula Showgirl.
Ms Hinde, a former Bega Showgirl, said the idea has been on her mind since she joined the Pambula Show Society four years ago.
“The Pambula AP & H Showgirl has a proud tradition and after 15 years without someone in this role I’ve been working hard to bring it back,” she said.
“I think it’s something that would be really good for the area, and for the girls themselves it’s an incredible experience.
“Representing your community as a showgirl promotes responsibility and maturity, and speaking from experience, it’s also a lot of fun!
“You are acting as an ambassador for Pambula, and if you win the zone showgirl competition, you can representing the entire South East at the Royal Sydney Easter Show.”
Ms Hinde said judging for the Pambula Showgirl title would be on December 14, four weeks before the January 11 Pambula Show.
“We are looking for girls with ambition, someone who wants to represent Pambula and be a positive role model for others,” she said.
“Contestants are judged on personality, confidence, ambition and life goals, general knowledge, rural knowledge, presentation and speech.”
Entrants must be between 18 and 25 years of age.
