Three tall ships converged on Twofold Bay on Monday morning creating a spectacular, rare sight.
Square riggers Young Endeavour and the Soren Larson arrived on Sunday night, joining The Yukon who had been in Eden for a week.
After a busy catch up at Snug Cove, The Yukon sailed north to Ulladulla on its East Coast Odyssey.
The other two sailed south to Melbourne and Hobart to join a fleet of tall ships due in Sydney next month for the Royal Australian Navy centenary on Friday, October 4.
Soren Larson captain and director of Sydney Tall Ships Marty Woods said many of the crew knew each other from being part of Australia’s small tall ships fraternity.
“It’s a crazy thing, it’s a very small industry so to come around the corner and see Dave (owner captain of the Yukon) was great,” he said.
“We like to keep the old sailing traditions alive and we’re lucky we got to stop in Eden, the maritime history makes it a great port to come into.”
