Keep a few coins in your pocket for Legacy as it holds its major fundraiser this week.
Legatee Steve Mahoney (pictured) will man merchandise stalls at Eden supermarkets, BiLo and IGA between 10am and 2pm on today with Peter Rice and wife barbara taking over tomorrow (Friday).
Then, a little after knock off time the men will do a walk through at the local sport and recreations clubs.
Badges are also available at Commonwealth Bank branches.
Far South Coast Legacy chairman Geoff Dove said by buying a badge, wristband, pen or other merchandise, you will help the local Legacy branch to continue its support of 150 local families between Tura Beach and Eden.
“This week is Legacy Week and the Far South Coast Legacy Group needs, and would be most grateful for, your help with its fundraising to provide care and support to war widows in our local community,” he said.
“It's quite simple really - just buy a Legacy badge from volunteers who will be out and about in the streets and shopping centres in Eden, Merimbula, Pambula and Tura Beach over the next three days.”
“This is a very special year for Legacy, as a unique not-for-profit charity, as it marks 90 years of continuous service by dedicated volunteers to the families of members of the Australian Defence Force who were killed in the service of their country, or who died as a result of injuries received during their war service.”
