George Brown Memorial Oval is getting an upgrade this weekend.
The Tigers' home ground is shaping up with the official opening of a new amenities block on Saturday.
Eden Junior Rugby League president Neil Baker said the club would hold a mini-carnival to coincide with the opening.
Baker said there had been some delays with council on the provision of the block, but once everything had the all clear construction has moved quickly.
“We had a few problems with council more or less, that held the project back,” Baker said.
He said an official ceremony declaring the amenities open would take place at 11am on the grounds followed by a solid day of football.
Member for Bega Andrew Constance will be part of the proceedings with local identities Russell Fitzpatrick and Ozzie Cruse to take part as well.
Baker said that there would be a full day of games with everyone from under 7s to the under 14s competing.
“The sevens, eights and nines are on in the morning,” Baker said.
“Then from 11.30am on the main oval is the 10s, 12s and 14s.” Baker said the 10s and up would be competing against the Bega Roosters minor rugby league squads.
“We’ve got 24 teams coming,” Baker said. “It’s going to be a big day.”
