I have been a keen diver for many years.On a recent trip to Eden whilst diving in Twofold Bay, I was shocked and disgusted to find once healthy reefs had been inundated with mussels, displacing much weed and marine life from those reefs.
I was disappointed to read that Federal MP, Mike Kelly, has been working on a solution to replace jobs, “if the chip mill fell over tomorrow.” (Magnet, May 2).
I, as many others in Eden were aghast at reading Mike Kelly’s comment that he wouldn’t bet on the chip mill’s future.
Mike Kelly has apparently stated that SEFE will be finished by September.
Last week, the citizens of the Manly electorate heard the welcome news from their MP, NSW Treasurer Mike Baird, that their run-down local hospital would be replaced by a privately built and operated new one.
At the busy times of the year the coastal boat ramps are notoriously busy and popular opinion is that they are a source of some unpleasant conflicts.
Hopefully attractions like the Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre will not have to relocate to be ‘geographically proper’ in namesake.
