Three times in a row they have been crowned minor and major premiers and again they remained undefeated this year.
The season came to a stunning and satisfying close for the Eden Killer Whales Ladies team on Sunday when they convincingly won the grand final with three goals against Merimbula Green’s one.
Coach Alan Clark praised the girls efforts saying their calm approach to the grand final hype helped with the win.
“I’m really proud of the girls, their defence frustrated Merimbula into making mistakes and they played a really mature game.”
The first goal for the girls went to left midfielder Chloe Bennett.
Captain Debbie Heron, centre midfielder, scored the second with a penalty kick following a Merimbula hand ball in goals.
With Merimbula still scoreless, Eden’s third goal came from the boot of centre midfielder Sam Clark.
Coach Clark also made special mention to goalie Lee Harris saying her bravery in the face of attack went a long way towards the win.
In the lead up to the grand final Mr Clark was working away from Eden and thanked co-coach Mark Heron for guiding the girls and fine tuning their training in those important weeks.
The ladies have been incredibly consistent performers over the years and next year, there might be two groups of killer ladies on the field if numbers continue to grow.
