Workability gets Grant working

20/11/2008 9:29:00 AM
Merimbula resident Grant Bailey has joined the team at Max Milliner’s Eden Chainsaw and Mower Centre thanks to an innovative national program which boosts workplace participation for jobseekers with a disability.

Mr Bailey, aged 24, has a life long love of motors beginning with a bike repair business when he was a young child.

He has a lawn mowing business, Grandos Mowing, which he operates from Merimbula.

Mr Milliner said Grant is a pleasure to have in the workshop. “Grant’s really good value,” Max said.

“Our customers are pleased with his service and I’m glad to be able to help out younger or unemployed people.”

Workability’s Karen Butchers said the Workability program runs from Batemans Bay to the border, and inland to Cooma and Bombala.

“The staff form a strong team whose members have diverse backgrounds and broad industry experience, which ensures that jobseekers who come to Workability receive practical support to get and keep jobs.

“While specialising in individual support and seeking the right job match, Workability has assisted more than 200 jobseekers this year and has been able to assist in maintaining long term jobs,” Karen said.

Call in at the Workability Bega office, 75 Upper St or phone 6492 3222 for more information.
