EDEN FORESHORE COMMITTEE

Interested Eden residents are invited to attend a meeting to establish a new Eden Foreshore Committee which will replace the former Bega Valley Shire Council Foreshore subcommittee. This new committee will initially focus on continuing the work of the previous committee.

PROBUS EVENTS

The Probus club of Eden is having a barbecue lunch today, Thursday, March 20 at Echo point commencing at 11am. A fishing competition will be held (arrive earlier). Echo Point is located heading north of Eden, do a u-turn after you travel across the Yowaka Bridge, turn left at the concrete barriers and go past the house. AGM will be held at the RSL hall on Thursday, March 27 at 10am, followed by lunch at the Great Southern Inn. All members are urged to attend.

COMBINED CHURCHES MENS GROUP

The combined churches men's group bible study is on this Saturday, 8am, Uniting Church hall. They are talking about what Jesus said would make us blessed. Allan Gibson 6496 1414.

OPEN DAY SAUSAGE SIZZLE

Saturday, March 22 from 11am to 2pm the Eden Log Cabin invites everyone to come and look inside and around the historic building, to let it be known that the Eden Log Cabin is for hire to the public for the purposes of arts and education.

There will be a BBQ and drinks provided. All Welcome.

ART & CRAFT EXHIBITION

Art and Craft by the Sea is holding its annual Easter exhibition of quality workmanship in Eden's historic Log Cabin. Paintings, cards, jewellery, needlework, knitwear, tole art, quilting, woodwork, quilling will be for sale.

Devonshire teas will be available at a normal change by Eden Lioness Club.

EASTER MARKET

The Wyndham Village "all weather" market is on Sunday, March 23, (Easter Sunday) at the Wyndham Hall from 8.30am until 12.30pm. Stallholders are most welcome at only $10 a stall and may be booked with Yvonne on 6494 2113.

EASTER SUNDAY CELEBRATION

The churches of Eden invite people to share in a time of celebration on Sunday morning, March 23 at 6.30am. We will gather on the Boardwalk viewing platform, behind the soccer ground to watch the sunrise as we celebrate that the Son has risen. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Meals on wheels require two persons, male or female for the delivery of meals within Eden on Tuesdays and two for Thursdays from 11am to 1pm once a month.

KID'S CLUB

The churches of Eden are conducting a Kid's Club on the three Tuesdays after Easter. March 25, April 1 and 8. This is for infants/primary aged kids and will be conducted at St John's Hall, Calle Calle Street. It will start with games at 3pm and then include some eating, singing, learning Biblical truths and craft and finishing by 4.45pm. All for a cost of $3 per child.

EDEN MARINE CENTRE

FILM PREMIERE "See our Seas" and fundraiser, Saturday, March 29 at the Pambula-Merimbula Golf Club. The evening commences at 6pm. Tickets are $50/head and include a delicious two-course dinner, keynote speaker Ian Kiernan, AO, a quick update on the Marine Centre progress and of course a spectacular film showcasing our beautiful region from Pete Constable at The Natural Picture Company. EDEN EASY WALKERS

Join Eden Easy Walkers on March 23. Come and stretch your legs for Easter at Eden Wharf/Rotary Park with an optional lunch at the Wharf Cafe. This is classed as a level three walk. Your walk leaders will be Beryl on 6496 3289 or Leonie 6496 1563.

SEAFOOD AND ARTS FESTIVAL

Expressions of interest are called for market stall holders and artists to exhibit their wares for the second annual Seafood and Arts Festival at the Great Southern Inn on Easter Sunday, March 23. Please contact Adrian Sandrey on 6496 1515.

KIAH BALL

Interested in attending a ball at Kiah as they were 50 years ago? The date is Easter Saturday, March 22 at 8pm. The program will be ballroom dancing and rock 'n' roll and music supplied by Rod Bryar. The purpose is to raise much needed funds to paint the Kiah Church. The organisers are expecting many members of the community in that era to return with their families. WELLBEING EXPRO - BEGA

The Bega RSL Club will host the Wellbeing Expo on Saturday, March 29 from 9am to 2pm. Saturday is open to the public for demonstrations, sales and workshops. For information on how you can participate in the expo contact Sarah on 6492 1166.

SHY ARTISTS' BARE ALL

The Shy Artists' Sale will be held on March 29 (10am to 8pm) and 30 (10am to 4pm) at Twyford Hall, Merimbula. Those in town for dinner or a movie Saturday night are welcome to come in and enjoy complimentary light refreshments from 6pm to 7.30pm.

COMBINED CHURCHES MEN'S GROUP

The Combined Churches Men's Group will be commencing a monthly bible study group, on the fourth Saturday of each month commencing at 8am at the Uniting Church Hall, Eden. The meetings will be practical and down to earth. All welcome. Contact person - Alan Gibson on 6496 1414.

SAPPHIRE COAST ORCHID CLUB INC

The monthly meeting for the club will be held Thursday, March 27 at the CWA rooms Bega at 7.30pm. Members are reminded to have their display plants benched by 7pm. Guest speaker will be Alan Stephenson from Nowra talking about orchid photography. For further information contact Ulli on 64920510.

SENIORS WEEK CELEBRATIONS AT THE ACCESS CENTRE

NSW is celebrating 50 years of Seniors Week activities. The theme for 2008 is "Live Life". Eden Access Centre will be offering a series of free computer courses by Community Technology Centres around the state ranging from an introduction to computers and the internet, to new technology and digital photo production. The courses will be held from April 7 to 12. Book early on 6496 3970 or visit the centre at 116 Imlay Street, Eden.

RELAY FOR LIFE

Jenny Roberts won the Ragers Relay for Life raffle of a leprechaun with Betty Hjorth getting the second prize of a rug. A Garden Party will be held at the home of Stephanie and Wally Rawlings at 4 Moorhead Street, Eden on Saturday April 5. An entry fee of $5 will put you in the draw for a great prize and the raffle for the Brazilian embroidered cushion will be drawn then. Everyone is most welcome to attend.

CO-OPERA TO PERFORM LA TRAVIATA

La Traviata will be performed at Eden Marine High School on Wednesday, April 16 at 7.30pm. The chorus will be helped along by the Nomads Choir and is also accompanied by a 10 piece chamber orchestra. Tickets are $36 (members and concessions) and $40 non-members of Sapphire Coast Music Society and are on sale at Merimbula Bookshop, Magpie Music, Bega and Eden Music Centre.
