A lifetime of smoking, heavy drinking, eating greasy foods and not exercising proved to be too much, and he passed away several hours later in hospital.
Three years later, a visit to the doctor painted a similarly grim picture for Michael’s son, Paul at just 32 years of age.
With much the same lifestyle, 12kg overweight and smoking 40 cigarettes a day, Paul was headed for the same fate.
